Valentine Deliveries
No Deliveries Accepted
We will not be accepting any candy, flowers, balloons, stuffed animals, or any other type of delivery for students for Valentine's Day. Please do not try to have items delivered to school.

Area 12 Planning Meetings

Please mark your calendars for two very important meetings! First, if you have been hearing about the growth our area is expecting to get over the next 10 years, please join us Thursday, February 15th, at 6:30pm at Collegedale City Hall for a presentation of the draft plan. Click here for details for this meeting: 

Also, on Thursday, February 22nd, at 6pm at East Brainerd Church of Christ, Councilman Ledford and I are hosting our first community update meeting for this year. This meeting will provide the latest information regarding public safety, public education, growth, and infrastructure needs and projects. I hope to see you at both meetings. Please attend, ask questions, and get involved!

PTA Meeting
Tuesday, February 20th
Please save the date for the next EHS PTA meeting on Tuesday, February 20th, at 6:30pm in the EHS Theatre. A representative from H&R Block will join us to talk about tax preparation and deductions you may not be aware of. There will be door prizes too!

Tech Goes Home Program
Begins February 27th
Tech Goes Home Program starting in February.  Would you like the opportunity to purchase a Chromebook for $50?  Enroll in our tech program, attend sessions totaling 15 hours of computer training and you can purchase a Chromebook for only $50.  If you would like to enroll in the Tech Goes Home program, please email Michelle Bettis (bettis_m@hcde.org ). Space is limited.  Classes will begin Tuesday, February 27, 2018 from 5:45-8:15 pm.  

Safe Boating Class
Saturday, March 3rd
TWRA is offering a safe boating class for students that want to get their license.

It will be Saturday March 3, 2018 from 1pm-4pm.

Capstone Judges Needed
March 6th, 7th, & 8th
Capstone judges are still needed, but now for only Wednesday, March 7. You can still choose a full day (7:30-2) or half day (7:30-10:30 or 10:30-2) slot.

Girls' Marketplace
Saturday, March 17th
Do you have a product or service to sell? On Saturday, March 17, GPS will host a Girls' Marketplace.  Girls ages 8-18 can apply to sell their products with a booth at the Marketplace (open to the public!).  Judges will award a cash prize to the girl-owned business with the all-around strongest presentation.  Apply for the Girls Marketplace here.   

Entrepreneur Workshops
Saturdays, February 17th & March 17th
Once you have applied for the Girls' Marketplace, get ready for your business debut by attending any of these free educational seminars, open to the public. All workshops are from 2-4 p.m. and will be hosted at the downtown Chattanooga Public Library.

Community Listening & Planning Sessions
March 27th @ East Hamilton
Hamilton County Schools will hold a series of community listening and planning sessions this spring, as the system works with parents and the community to chart a course for the success of all children. "This will be the second round of listening sessions since I came to this community last summer and we look forward to citizens once again sharing with us their hopes and dreams for their schools and children," said Dr. Bryan Johnson, superintendent of Hamilton County Schools. "This ongoing feedback will be substantive and important toward shaping the future of our school system," Johnson added, "We came away from the first round of listening sessions with a very targeted list of key initiatives that we will work to accomplish with the community's continued support."

9th Annual Hurricane Party

Save the Date! The CaneRaisers of East Hamilton invite you to the 9th Annual Hurricane Party on Saturday, March 24th at 7:00pm at the Elks Lodge, 1067 Graysville Road in East Brainerd. This fun, adult-only party will provide dinner, dancing, and a silent auction for all attendees. Proceeds from the silent auction benefit CaneRaisers of East Hamilton, an independent parent organization dedicated to raising funds for various programs at East Hamilton School. Stay tuned for more information!

Spring Capstone Deadlines
Presentations March 6th-8th
 
SENIORS-Capstone dates for Spring Presenters are as follows:
  • Wednesday 1/31 Tab 1 due - Parent Consent, Personal Statement, and Resume. This includes a 3-ring binder WITH labeled tabs AND a cover sheet.
  • Wednesday 2/7 Tab 2 due - Proposal and Letter of Intent
  • Wednesday 2/14 Tab 3 due - Mentor Information, Interview, and Timesheet
  • Wednesday 2/21 Tab 4 due - Presentation Outline, Research material, and Works Cited
  • Tuesday-Thursday 3/6-8 Presentations to the Judges
  • Friday 3/16 Tab 5 due - Reflection Essay

TN Promise Mandatory Meeting
Monday, March 26th
 
TN Promise Mandatory Meeting is March 26th at 5:30pm at East Hamilton High School  You must be present.   Remember, failure to attend this meeting will result in the permanent loss of your TN Promise eligibility. Please note the tnAchieves meeting excuse form policy found here
Upcoming TN Promise Deadlines:
  • Attend your mandatory spring meeting. Click here for all meeting dates.
  • Fall 2018 semester community service hours are due to tnAchieves.org by July 1, 2018. Submit them HERE. You are responsible for submitting your service hours to tnAchieves.org. DO NOT ask your supervisor, other volunteer or parent to submit your hours for you. It is your responsibility to ensure the completed form is submitted on tnAchieves.org by the deadline. If you are enrolling at a TCAT and your program begins in the summer, you will have 8 hours of community service due by April 1, 2018.
