To Watch our Video Announcements: Otis in the AM

  • Student drivers: If you have not purchased your parking pass, please do so ASAP. All information for parking is online or stop by the front office for more information. If you have purchased your parking pass and have not picked up your hang tag please stop by the front office during lunch or after school to do so.
  • Request for SF1010 form for your driving permit. If you are at least 15 years of age, passing 3 classes and aren't missing more than 8 days of school per quarter. Please fill out one this form.  Mrs. Zeh will email your school email when it is ready, within a week.  Pick up times are during advisory/study hall, lunch, or after school. 
  • Soon-to-be graduate of the Class of 2023! Your yearbook staff is working diligently to ensure that every senior is covered in this year’s yearbook! Here is what we need from you as soon as possible: favorite quote, favorite memory from the past 4 years, advice for future Canes, casual picture of choice (can be from Prestige, we just need the picture #) (in .jpg format), “Baby” picture (in .jpg format). You can email these materials directly to the yearbook staff member in charge of YOUR spotlight and to the yearbook email address at easthamyearbook@gmail.com. 
  • The Concession Stand in between the Gyms will be open on Wednesday and Fridays during lunch. Get a slice of Pizza for $2 and help support our athletic teams and clubs. 
  • The Annual Toy drive for the Forgotten Child Fund is happening now until 12/9. Bring in a new unwrapped toy to your first block. The grade that brings the most toys before 12/9 will win two dress down days!
  • Seniors and seniors only, will be allowed to have lunch in the Student Center. You must have your student ID, sit in the main section, and will not be able to leave until lunch is over.  Everyone will be expected to clean up after themselves, push chairs in, pick up trash, and don’t leave any personal items behind. Everyone's behavior will have to be respectful to adults, each other, and the room, by keeping volume level manageable, no profanity or horseplay. Failure to follow these rules will result in loss of this privilege. Remember Seniors only will be able to have lunch in the student center.

  • Mock Trial will meet as scheduled on Wednesday, November 30, from 2:30-4:30 pm. We will not be meeting on Thursday, December 1, so that we can support the theater production of, "the play that goes wrong." Also, our competition case will be released any day now. stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
  • AP Students are currently raising money for the AP Universal trip in February!  Chik-Fil-A Chicken biscuits will be sold on Wednesdays and Friday mornings through November, December, and January!  Be sure to purchase and support our program!
  • The Cornley Drama Society is desperately hoping that "The Murder at Haversham Manor" will be the very production needed to turn their rough season around... However, this is the PLAY THAT GOES WRONG! East Hamilton Theater Company Presents this hilarious play within a play December 1-3 at 7pm. There will be one school performance this Friday during 2nd and 3rd periods. Tickets for this show are $3, will be first-come, first-served, and will go on sale during lunch Wednesday and Thursday. Tickets will not be sold at the door on Friday.

  • Yearbook - Senior Spotlight | Seniors! Don't forget to turn in your senior spotlight materials to your assigned yearbook staffer ASAP:! We need a baby picture, casual picture, favorite quote and memory, as well as a word of advice to younger Canes! You can email these to easthamyearbook@gmail.com!

  • Canesgiving and Toys for Forgotten Child Fund are now competing by grade with more chances to win! The grade with the most food items or money before Thanksgiving will win two dress down days! and the grade that brings the most toys before winter break will win two dress down days! Yes, it’s possible for one grade to twice. 
  • Winter Guard auditions are November 14th through 18th in the band room. $10 audition fee. No experience required, for more information see Mrs. Epperson or talk to a current color guard member.
  • Are you interested in being a part of “Otis in the AM” next semester? We are looking for anyone that would like to host, take pictures, video, edit, or can creatively write. If you're interested, see Mr. Moore in room 1160 after school.

  • Canesgiving and Toys for Forgotten Child Fund are now competing by grade with more chances to win! Be sure to bring a canned and/or non-perishable food item or a new unwrapped toy to your first block. The grade with the most food items or money before Thanksgiving will win two dress down days! and the grade that brings the most toys before winter break will win two dress down days! Yes, it’s possible for one grade to twice. 
  • Winter Guard auditions are November 14th through 18th in the band room. $10 audition fee. No experience required, for more information see Mrs. Epperson or talk to a current color guard member.

Freshmen and Sophomores bring those canned goods so we can all witness this event.

Seniors must complete the scholarship application at tnpromise.gov by 11:59 pm on Tuesday, November 1st  in order to become eligible for TN Promise – failure to do so by the deadline will mean you cannot become eligible at a later date. Please note, any students planning to attend a UT system institution that are interested in the UT Promise scholarship are also required to apply for TN Promise by November 1 and must meet all the subsequent requirements after application to be considered for UT Promise. If you have questions or need help with this, please see Ms. Ellis or Ms. Seebach.

  • HOSA - Future Health Professionals - is hosting their second meeting this Friday, October 21st from 2:30-3:15 in the student center.
  • Canes Giving and Toys for Tots have started. The Downstairs hallways will be collecting food and the upstairs will be collecting toys. Please bring canned food and or non perishable  food items to your first Block if you are downstairs. If you are upstairs please bring New unwrapped toys to your first block. Distribution Boxes are in each hallway. food items and Toys will be counted and totaled each day. The winning hallway upstairs and downstairs will receive a Dress down Day!

  • The Mock Trial Club will hold its first meeting on Wednesday, September 21st from 2:30-4:00. Meet in the Student Center.
  • For those interested in joining the Herpetology Club, the first meeting of the year will take place right after school on Wednesday in Mr. Bakland's room, Upper Blue room 2216. This first meeting will last approximately 30-40 minutes."  
  • The East Hamilton Science National Honors Society has officially begun its application process! Students who qualify and signed up for membership at the club expo should find the application in their school email inbox. The packet is due by Monday, September 26 and if you have any additional questions, please see Ms.Kuberg.  
  • Our cross country girls won last night at Edwards Park, our league's second most challenging course. Our top four led the field substantially and took the top four spots for individual medals. Willa Barnes won the whole race, followed by Adrianna Huffstuttler, Madison Wright, and Ashlyn Shell. Skyler Shinn rounded out our top five in 23rd place, with Avery Kyser and Lena Semmar further back. We still lead the league standings.
  • Our boys ran respectably (6th place), but a one point loss to McMinn County grates. Ryan de Castro led our boys but missed the medal stand this time, finishing 11th. (The Dalton boys team won the race)

  • The junior class officers will be selling tickets during lunches. Tickets are $8 beforehand $10 at the door. Tickets will be sold through next Thursday 9/8. Date forms can be picked up at the front office or the ticket table. Date forms must be turned in by next Thursday 9/8. If you have any questions you can ask your class officers or Donohue.
  • There is still room for students to sign up to go to Costa Rica this Spring break with Mr. Bakland and fellow East Hamilton students. Any students interested should stop by and see Mr. Bakland sometime this week."
  • East Hamilton’s Climbing Team will be having their first information meeting on Thursday, September 8th at 2:30.  The meeting will be in Mr. Manley’s classroom in lower red hallway.  Anyone who is interested in participating in the 2022-2023 season is invited.  The meeting should be less than 30 minutes.  We will be discussing rules, practices, and costs.  Snacks will be served. 
  • This Friday, September 9th, the anime and gaming club will begin. Come join us this Friday!!

This week is Spirit Week!!!! 
  • Today – Powderpuff Tshirts for Juniors and Seniors and Jersey/Sports for 9 and 10.
  • Thursday – Senior Citizens vs. Toddlers – 11th and 12th dress up as senior citizens and 9th and 10th dress up as toddlers/little kids
  • Friday – Spirit Day – (9th – Gray, 10th – Green, 11th – White, 12th – Black) with a prize for the most spirited person in each grade.
1. All shorts must be appropriate length according to school dress code.
2. No crop shirts 3.Leggings/sweatpants/athletic shorts (of correct length) are okay
4. No hoodies
5. Dresses/skirts are okay as long as they are for consistent with the daily theme. Leggings must be worn under skirts.
6. No face coverings
7. Hats are okay as long as they are consistent with the daily theme.
8. If students do not dress according to the daily theme, they are expected to be in regular EHHS dress code attire. *all East Hamilton dress code rules apply towards dress being appropriate for school setting.  Administration will have final say on potential discrepancies.
